Our Story

Hi, I’m Thejaswini, founder of Dyuthi.

My journey with sarees began long before Dyuthi was born.

As a little girl, I would drape my mother’s sarees and admire the grace, confidence, and beauty they carried. To me, a saree was never just a piece of clothing. It represented tradition, identity, femininity, and the stories passed down through generations of women.

That fascination stayed with me as I grew up.

Professionally, I built my career as a frontend software engineer, creating digital experiences and solving problems through technology. But even while working in the world of software, my heart remained deeply connected to India’s rich textile heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and the extraordinary artistry of handwoven sarees.

As I began exploring the world of textiles more closely, I discovered something that stayed with me.

Behind every beautiful saree was a story.

A story of skilled hands working patiently at a loom. A story of traditions passed down through generations. A story of artisans and weaving communities preserving centuries of knowledge through every thread they create.

Yet many of these traditions are slowly disappearing.

Mass production, powerlooms, and fast fashion are replacing the authenticity, craftsmanship, and soul that make handwoven textiles truly special.

I founded Dyuthi because I believe these stories deserve to be celebrated and preserved.

The name Dyuthi means “light” — a symbol of radiance, strength, grace, and individuality. It reflects the spirit of every woman who wears our sarees and the brilliance of the artisans who create them.

For me, Dyuthi is more than a saree brand.

It is a bridge between India’s weaving heritage and the modern woman who values authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance.

From handloom silk sarees woven on our own looms to collections created in partnership with skilled weaving communities, every piece is thoughtfully chosen to reflect quality, artistry, and tradition. Whether it is a handloom silk saree, an Ilkal weave, or a carefully curated cotton collection, every saree carries a story worth preserving.

Today, I am proud that Dyuthi not only collaborates directly with weaving communities but also supports traditional craftsmanship through our own weaving and manufacturing processes, helping keep these art forms alive for future generations.

When you choose a Dyuthi saree, you are choosing more than fabric.
You are choosing the skill of an artisan, the legacy of a tradition, and the beauty of authentic craftsmanship.

It is a story you carry.
